Boycott

I was thinking that as a White Sox fan it might be time to boycott the team. Although the Sox fan base has NEVER truly backed the team (if you don’t believe me look at attendance figures from 2005 when they won the World Series). I think Reinsdorf and company deserve a clear message from the fans that, “We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to

Dumb things I’ve read today

Yoan Moncada who I have pegged for baseball stardom since 2016 has started out spring training with five hits in his first eight at bats. The Twitterverse is now abuzz, as the couch scouts have identified that “he looks so much more comfortable at the plate.” I wonder what they would be saying if he was two for eight with the other six outs being scorched line

Prospect profile: Alex Call

Selected out of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana in the third round of the 2016 draft, Kannapolis outfielder Alex Call has been nothing short of spectacular during his introduction to professional baseball. At Ball State, Call led the Cardinals in hitting during his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. He capped off his collegiate career by being chosen as the MAC conference Baseball Player of the year

Prospect profile: Alec Hansen

The other night in Kannapolis I was fortunate to be on hand as Alec Hansen made his Class A debut against the Columbia Fireflies.  A little background research on Hansen will tell you he is a premier prospect who battled issues with command and control while pitching at Oklahoma and his draft stock fell when he was relegated to the bullpen during his junior year.  Once thought

Luis Curbelo: Looking forward to 2019

“Hey Luis, will you sign my ball?” a young fan calls out to Intimidators starting shortstop Luis Curbelo as he makes his way toward the locker room following a game. “Sure, no problem,” Curbelo responds flashing a smile. Another fan follows and Luis continues signing autographs and chatting it up with the Kannapolis faithful. As he signs he talks to the Intimidators boosters. One of the autograph-seeker’s parent calls

Prospect profile: Pedro Castellanos

One of the players I had the most interest in seeing during their most recent series against the Kannapolis Intimidators was Greenville first baseman Pedro Castellanos.  Coming into the season, Castellanos was an unranked prospect in Boston’s system by Baseball America.  However, he is currently listed 18th in the organization by MLB.com.  Castellanos is a tall right handed hitter listed at 6’3” 195.  Although he does possess a lanky

Craig Dedelow taking his hacks for the Intimidators

Prospect profile: Craig Dedelow

His teammates call him “Deeds”. But unlike the Adam Sandler character in the movie Mr. Deeds, when Craig Dedelow comes up to hit, his opponents aren’t laughing. The Kannapolis Intimidators left fielder is using his blue-collar work ethic to establish himself as a legitimate prospect in the White Sox system. He currently leads the South Atlantic League in doubles (19) and outfield assists (9) while also leading his
